ADOPTION PROGRAM

The journey to adopt a child can be overwhelming. TLC Child & Family Services’ staff is dedicated in assisting prospective adoptive parents along the entire adoption process. We work diligently to find the best possible matches between adoptive families and children, as well as enable adoptive parents to explore their motivations and consider all options in planning for an adoption.

The Foster Care Adoption Program looks for children to be adopted from all over California. Our adoption team consists of a TLC adoption social worker, county placement worker, county or state adoption social worker, and others. Our only goal is to work towards the placement of a child in a stable, caring environment. Serious attention is given to matching the needs of both the child and the fost-adopt family. Our social workers’ caseloads are kept low to insure excellent working relationships with adoptive families and access to them 24/7 for any emergency or crisis. Becoming a fost-adoptive parent requires close interaction with the TLC adoption team. Our goal is to help you become a successful adoptive parent(s).

In addition to foster care adoptions, TLC also can help families with domestic infant adoptions. TLC is not currently prepared to assist families with locating a birthmother, but we can provide adoption home studies, work with an out-of-state case (ICPC), take relinquishments, and do post placement visits and reports.
