Sources of funding for residentially-based treatment may include:

• Department of Social Services
• County Mental Health agencies (through the individualized education plan (IEP) referrals for AB 3632 services.
• Adoption Assistance Program
• Probation Department
• Private pay

Many healthcare plans (HMOs) and employee assistance programs (EAP) are becoming more flexible in reimbursement. They can compare the effectiveness, efficiency and cost of residentially-based services compared with the higher costs of hospitalizations.
