Make a Gift of Stock

You may realize significant tax benefits by making a sizable gift of appreciated stock, bonds or mutual fund shares to TLC. Capital gains on the amount of the appreciation are avoided, and you receive a tax deduction for the securities' full market value at the time of the transfer.

To begin the process, ask your broker to contact Bill Servis at Putney Financial at 415-460-1990, TLC's financial broker. Tell him that you would like to make a stock transfer to TLC. Your broker may also want to know our tax identification number to substantiate that your gift will be tax-deductible. Our tax ID number is 68-0008634

Next, please contact TLC Development Department at (707) 823-7000 ext 305 to inform us of your stock gift. We need to know your name, the date of the transfer, number of shares, and the stock name.

We need this information in order to correctly credit each donor when shares are transferred electronically. We cannot tell who the donor is from the transfer alone.
