Transitional Housing Program Plus

THP-Plus is a transitional housing placement opportunity for young adults, aged 18-24, who have already emancipated from the child welfare system. The goal of the program is to provide a safe living environment and life skills to achieve self-sufficiency.

Support services include regular visits to participant residences, educational guidance, employment counseling and assistance in reaching emancipation goals. Participants in THP-Plus are provided housing and assisted with rent, but gradually take on increasing responsibility for their rent payment while also accruing savings in an account set aside in order to provide them with a reserve for expenses once they depart from the program.

THP-Plus Eligibility

  • THP-Plus eligible youth are young adults who have emancipated from foster care, are 18 through 24 years old and are pursuing the goals they have developed in the Transitional Independent Living Plan (TILP).
